- Is Wi-Fi included?
- Yes, fast Wi-Fi and all utilities are included in your monthly rent.
- What furniture comes with the room?
- Every room has a queen bed with linens & duvet, a 32" Roku Smart TV, desk, chair, wardrobe, mini-fridge, kettle, and coffee maker.
- Do I need a credit check?
- No credit check and no credit score needed. Only the first month's rent is required to move in.
- Are pets allowed?
- Currently we do not allow pets.
- How do I get to UQO / downtown?
- One direct bus ride to UQO (about 10 minutes). 15-minute direct bus to downtown Ottawa/Hull. We're only 8km from downtown.
- What's the kitchen like?
- Each guest house has a full shared kitchen with a stove, microwave, air fryer, fridge/freezer, and dishes.
- Is there parking and laundry?
- Yes, free parking and free laundry at every location.
- How do I apply?
- Click "Apply Now", choose a location and budget, and fill in the form. We review and contact you to arrange a viewing.
- What does it cost?
- Monthly rooms range from $750 to $1600 depending on size and availability.
- Is housekeeping included?
- Yes, bi-weekly housekeeping of all common areas (kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room).
- Can I talk to a person?
- Yes! Call or text 1-343-202-5460, or message us on WhatsApp.
- Do you have rooms for rent in Gatineau, Aylmer, Hull or Ottawa?
- Yes. Our three guest houses are in the Aylmer sector of Gatineau, Quebec, a 15-minute direct bus ride from Hull and downtown Ottawa. Every room is furnished and rented by the month with Wi-Fi and utilities included.
- Can I rent month to month with no lease?
- Yes. Rooms are rented monthly with a one-month minimum and renew month to month. There is no long lease, no deposit and no credit check: only the first month's rent to move in.
- Is Zorba a rooming house or a boarding house?
- Zorba is a furnished guest house: you get your own locked, furnished room with a keypad code, and share a full kitchen, bathrooms and laundry with a few housemates. Common areas are cleaned for you.
- Do you rent to students?
- Yes. Students from UQO, the University of Ottawa, Carleton and Algonquin live with us. UQO is about 10 minutes by direct bus, downtown Ottawa 15 minutes, and monthly terms fit a semester.
- Is this a good option for newcomers to Canada?
- Yes. Many of our guests are newcomers and temporary workers. No Canadian credit history is needed, everything is included in one monthly price, and our newcomer guide lists the local services you will need.
- Can I rent by the week or for a few nights?
- Our rooms rent by the month, minimum one month. If you need something shorter, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you what is possible.
- Avez-vous des chambres à louer à Gatineau, Aylmer ou Hull?
- Oui. Nos trois maisons d'hôtes sont dans le secteur Aylmer de Gatineau, à 15 minutes d'autobus direct de Hull et du centre-ville d'Ottawa. Chaque chambre est meublée, tout inclus (Wi-Fi, chauffage, électricité) et louée au mois, sans enquête de crédit.
- Chambre meublée tout inclus pour étudiant ou colocation à Gatineau?
- Oui. Nos chambres meublées conviennent aux étudiants (UQO à 10 minutes d'autobus), aux travailleurs et aux nouveaux arrivants: cuisine complète partagée, buanderie et stationnement gratuits, ménage des aires communes inclus. Location au mois, minimum un mois.
